Fisherman’s Arms Race

 In Sailing
Sunday 8th September,

the Fisherman's Arms Race used to be for dinghies, racing to Golant,
grabbing a drink of coke from the Pub, and racing back. Over the years
it has become a bit more civilised, with Troys and Fowey Rivers racing
to Golant, mooring up, going ashore for lunch and refreshments, and then
cruising home before the tide drops too much.

There was a good turnout this year, with 7 Troys and 3 Fowey Rivers
venturing upriver, with light winds and sunshine. The winning Troy was
Black Diamond, no15, helmed by George Mellish, and the first Fowey River
over the line was Kate Arters no.55 Wild Bird.

Thanks to the Race Officers and the Safety boat crews for enabling the Race.
